No. You probably remember 5-7-5 from school — that’s already more than you need. Kigo gives you words to choose from and three prompts every morning.

Who owns my photos?＋

Anytime. Anything you’ve already saved stays on your phone. Your album closes with your subscription — we hold it for 12 months in case you come back, and we email you before it goes.

Yes. Finished photos and cards save straight to your phone — three of each, free. With a subscription there’s no limit, and everything you make also collects in your Kigo album, so you can look back or remake it later.

I’m Nori — a photographer, living in Tokyo.

Photography has never been a job to me. It’s a way of living. It’s how I end up looking at everything.

A season turning in the middle of an ordinary day. The way someone’s hands move when they aren’t thinking about it. A face that changes a little when a friend walks in. A meal so good the table goes quiet. When something moves in me, my hand goes to the shutter.

For a long time I thought a photograph didn’t need words.

But a haiku is words with everything unnecessary taken out — and that is exactly what I do with a picture.

Don’t cram it full. Narrow it down to the one thing you want to show, the one thing you want someone to feel. Then set your own feeling beside it, in as few words as it takes.

Photographs and haiku belong together. Nothing has ever fit better. That’s why I made Kigo.

I built it around that idea — but I’d love for you to use it in ways I never thought of. Don’t overthink it. I just hope you enjoy it.
